Ok, so I am glad that I am not very superstisious.  I broke a mirror today.  It was a small mirror, a hand mirror I keep in the bathroom.  So, even if it were to bring bad luck, let’s hope the bad luck is relative to its size.

On the good luck, good feeling side of the equation, I went to the gym again tonight.

Lately I feel the urge to travel a bit stronger than usual and a few of my favorite places keep coming to mind.  Another thing on my mind was, that as Friday approached, I realized that the weekend wasn’t going to be as originally planned.  It didn’t look like I was going to see who I expected to  and in a big picture sense, I didn’t understand why my weekend was shaping up the way it was.  There were lots of other little pesky thoughts on the edge of my consciousness too; shopping lists, laundry to do, and the like.

So, with that assortment of thoughts, I set out on the treadmill  I begin at a comfortable 4 MPH and work up to a heart pounding 6.4 MPH.  Within minutes, the stormy thoughts in my head began to lift and I had an image of myself running along the beach in Malibu.  That is one of my favorite places. Malibu wasn’t conciously on my mind when I began to run.  But, what a glorious picture in my head it became, and more importantly, what a wonderful feeling and energy I experienced as I ran.  I was in touch with what it feels like running on the beach, and not just any beach, a specific one.

Afterwards, I thought about how specifics are helpful with the law of attraction and the important role vibrational energy plays in manifesting our dreams.  I had a wonderful hour long run on that treadmill, or as I like to think of it, my own little piece of Malibu for the evening.

Ever need an emotional lift?  Something to raise your vibrational energy?

The solution can be as easy as a pair of walking shoes.  How about a brisk walk around the block, or a quick trip to the gym?

I found myself today feeling out of touch, edgy even.  My solution:  Before heading home, I made a stop at the gym, got on the elliptical trainer, and within twenty minutes, I could physically feel my spirits lifting and the stress drifting away.  By the time I was finished with my workout, I was relaxed and feeling at a noticeably higher vibrational level.

You do not need to go to the gym to get this feeling.  Just add some physical activity next time you feel low.

Many of you have noticed a link to the left of my blog which directs you to some of my favorite books.  Although there are books on the Amazon link that I have learned from, cherished, and enjoyed, I am always on the lookout for new material. Feel free to recommend one of your favorites by posting a comment.  I’ll take a look.  And, who knows, it just may end up on my list.

How do you feel when you’re waiting for something to happen?  What it is something specific that you ache for?  That new car?  The love of a lifetime?  Graduation?  A promotion?  You name it, and I bet there is some period of waiting involved.  The way most of us experience time, of course, a wait is expected.  We can focus on the wait, feed ourself messages about “it’s coming”, or “it won’t happen right away”.  Of course that just prolongs the wait doesn’t it?

If I tell myself I am going to betting something I desire, then aren’t I really saying it is coming but it isn’t here.  What if instead, I let myself feel the experience of exactly where I am at and know that it is of course part of the journey.  But, a part just as deserving of cherish as the goal itself.  And, to make it even better, what if I let myself into the place and actions of what life is like with the goal achieved?  It will happen faster.

What do you think?  What are you thinking right now about what you desire?  Write those feelings down.  Embrace them whatever they are.  Follow them where they may lead.  For, they are part of your wonderful journey.

Often we put lots of effort into our “to do” lists and less effort and energy into focusing on how we feel and the energy attached to the goals we’d like to achieve.  Next time you think about a goal, try imaging just how you will feel once that goal is achieved.  For it is that feeling which will propel you and allow the universe to conspire around the very goals you desire.

Coming soon,  Eva Liljendahl (my favorite certified coach) and I, (Charles Alan Ross), will be co-leading a workshop in Chicago on this very topic.  It will be interactive, fun, and enlightening.  More details to follow.
