Today, I ate Indian food.  What was so great about it?  Many things.  The exotic smells that greeted me today at an authentic Indian buffet.  The savory and unique combination of spices that pleased my palette. But why, you may wonder, do I mention this here?

I mention my fabulously diverse lunch today because it inspired me.

Why did it inspire me?  It inspired me because it was so very different from my typical lunch.  It made me look at food just a little differently than I normally do.  I felt a heightened sense of anticipation as I took my first bites. I was focused in the moment while I dined. My mind stayed with the delicious tastes rather than drift to the past or the future.

What this buffet was really about for me, is a reminder of the many choices we have and the possibilities before us. So, go find your Indian buffet, or something that’s exotic and different for you.

What do you love about your life right now?

What comes to mind first? Come on now, something does. Then something else, and another thought and another.

Make a quick list. What things in your life are exactly as you’d like them to be? What in your life is close to how you’d like? What states of being in your life are you still on the path towards? There is joy to be found in all of these things.

Make yourself a list. I bet it’s longer than you thought.

You’ve probably heard the riddle. If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound if no one is there to hear it?

What that speaks to is the participation of the observer in creation.  If no one observes, does something actually happen?  Well, I may not answer that question from an existential point of view.  But, I will challenge you to ponder it at a personal level.

If you watch a flower bloom, you see the beauty of that flower. If you turn your back to the potential that was in that bud that promises to flower, you may miss the beauty.  If there are things you wish to experience in your own life, choose to observe.  Observe with child-like wonder and anticipation.  Observe as if you know in every bit of your being that it is coming.  The cherry tree in winter does not reveal its beautiful flowers. Yet you know that it will bloom in spring.

You should trust in your own life, in your own beautiful potential in the same way.

Enjoy, participate and observe your growth and movement towards your dream life.

Watch the blossoms on your tree of dreams.  Enjoy the beauty.  Become that unlimited potential that is you.
