No matter how high or low energy you feel today, think of one thing that you are grateful for.  Its it something related to health, family and relationships, knowledge, spirituality, or abundance?

Now, think of another.   And then another.  Write them down if you like and keep this list with you.  Add to it when you are inspired.  Read it when you are low.  Be grateful for the diversity of experience that the universe provides.

Look for abundance in your life and all around you.  It’s there.  Even if you feel lack, a simple shift of focus can demonstrate the abundance of this beautiful universe we occupy.

Here is a quick, super powerful exercise to focus on the reality that abundance exists.

1. Simply shift your focus from wherever it is at the moment.

2. Look around you.  Look in the distance.  Look near.  Notice anything that is in abundance without judging its relevance to you. Lot’s of grass over there?  Buildings everywhere you look?  Rain pouring from the sky?  Bright sunshine beaming down? A street filled with cars?  With people?  A park full of trees? A case filled with books?  You get the idea.

3. Make a mental list of these abundances until you can’t think of anymore.

4. Now, think about how this focus on the reality of abundance in any form, also holds true for your own life, including the possibilities for abundance in areas where you currently see lack.

5. Say to yourself out loud, “I now live in perfect abundance and in harmony with this abundant universe.”

Believe it to be true.  Feel it to be true, and it becomes your truth.  Try this for nine days and see the results.

Although it may seem counterintuitive, I am not much of a ‘how” thinker when it comes to getting something I desire.  Instead I focus on the feelings and the energy around my desire.  I focus intention on the specifics of what I want.  I use an unpleasant situation to clarify what a pleasant one would feel like.  I imagine being in that beautiful place that is the desire fulfilled.

The how will take care of itself when your energy is focused with intention.  I will clearly know, and easily accomplish the steps when my energy is focused on the outcome.  I broke a thick board once with my bare hand.  I was focused on my fist being on the other side of that board, not on how it was going to make it through that wood.  It was much easier than it looked.  It had nothing to do with how the wood would break from physical force.  That was secondary to the outcome I expected.

Now, with all of that being said, there is another phenomena that has to do with all of this “how” talk.  We can easily limit ourselves to certain acceptable ways of achieving those things we desire.

If you believe the only way to financial freedom is hard work, you are going to be working hard to get those dollars you desire.  If you open your mind a little more, you have more opportunity to get it faster.  Maybe you can’t quite get in a place where you relax enough to forget about the “how”.  What’s the next best thing to do?  It’s to give yourself lots of possible “hows”,ways which you will accept your desire coming into being.  Maybe you could also believe that you can gain financial freedom from a lottery ticket, a mysterious inheritance, a treasure in the attic, a novel you write, an idea for an invention.  Do you see where I am going here?  the more ways you would accept something, the more avenues the universe has to answer and still be in alignment with your beliefs.

Take out a sheet of paper.  At the top write one specific situation or thing which you desire.  Below that begin to write ways you can imagine achieving it.  Get creative.  Let your mind wander.  Write some more even after you think there is no more to write.  Add to that list as other “hows” come into your mind.  You are expanding your consciousness.  You are opening yourself up to marvelous possibilities.

Even if you are not yet at a place where you can let go of all of those “to do” and “how” steps to achieve something, this exercise will get you closer.

Here’s a quick and simple exercise. One, because I like quick and simple. And two, because sometimes you just need to get moving and not bogged down in the planning of life.

Take out some paper and a pen.  Write down a list of things you hope to accomplish someday.  Write fast and put down everything that comes to mind, big and small.  Don’t edit.  Just write.  After about 5 minutes, put the pen down and turn the paper over.  Don’t look at.

Take another 5 minute break.  Go do somethinbg for a few minutes.  The idea here is not to think about your list, but to get your concious mind focused on something else, even if it’s just getting a drink of water or taking a walk outside.  Don’t worry, your subconscious mind is always working, and doing plenty with that list you wrote, right beneath your conscious awareness.

OK, so 5 more minutes have passed.  Go back to your paper with the list.  Turn it over, and scan it.  Circle 3 items that jump to mind.  Do this quickly.  there is no right or wrong.  Follow your intuition.

Now look at those 3 items circles.  Put a star next one of them.  Just one, any one.  Now, you have it, an item that has importance to you to achieve.  Don’t criticize this item you circled.  Don’t demean it by saying I don’t really want it.  Cherish it as something that came more from your true self than your rational mind, especially if you did this exercise quickly.

Take this item and write one sentence in the present tense the you have achieved this.  Write  on something you can keep with you this week.  I like note cards for this, but anything you’re going to take with you works.  I also use my mobile phone to keep notes like this.

So what should your note look like?  Depending on what you wrote and starred, something like this:

Item starred: I want to loose weight.  Sentence: I’m at my ideal weight.

Item starred: Get a better paying job.  Sentence: I have a well paying  great job.

Hopefully, you get the idea.  Now just one more thing to make this even more powerful.

Write that you appreciate or are grateful for what you have.  Write it in a way that feels good to you.  Here’s and example with one of the sentences above: “I’m grateful to the universe that I’m at my ideal weight.”

Now, this entire process can take less than 20 minutes.  Try it.

Let me know how it works for you.

Here is a quick and easy exercise.  Do it once.  Do it ten times.  Do it as often as you want, and it will draw you closer to your conscious desires.

In preparation for this exercise, find one object that represents something that could be used in your ideal life.  This is a step that you can do anytime.  Give some thought to what object may be present in the goal you are trying to achieve.

Here are some examples;  Want to marry the partner of your dreams, choose a ring that with eyes closed, will feel like a wedding band.  Want to be a certain size, a piece of clothing in your hands can symbolize that.  Any object will do.  In individual consultations, I can work with a client to pick the best objects to move forward quickly.  Think specific and unique objects here.

Now, Find a quiet peaceful place to sit, someplace that is relaxing and calming for you.  Hold in your hands the object you’ve chosen.  Close your eyes, and imagine you are living that life you desire, that you have that thing you want, that relationship, that career, whatever it is you have decided to focus on.  Let your mind focus on the object and how it relates to your scenario.

Let that object become what it represents.  If you are holding a pen, you’d use in your ideal job, imagine exactly what it would look like.   How would you write with it?  What papers would you sign?  How does it feel in your hands?  The object is a jumping off point for you.  Let it become a symbol of your ideal situation.  As you use your imagination, try to stay in the present.  For these five minutes, you are there as if it’s happening now.

After about five minutes, open you eyes and  remember how it felt to be there in that moment.

Keep the object someplace handy.  Use it to repeat the exercise often.  Change objects for the same scenario to further enhance the power of this exercise.  There are no rules about how often you can do this or where it can lead.  Play with it, until it feels just perfect.

As another workshop approaches this weekend, here’s a quick exercise to give you an idea of the topic Eva Liljendahl and I will be covering this weekend, turning the negative into a positive.
The subject of contrast refers to the negative we encounter that contrasts those things and emotions we desire.
There is something good about feeling bad, helping us clarify what we do want to experience for example. Movng through the contrast can result in expansion and growth.
So here is a quick exercise to help you move from the negative to the positive.

Take out a sheet of paper and a pen. On the left side of the paper write down one thing in your life that feels the most unpleasant. In a sentance or two write what the situation is. Be as specific as possible. Beneath the description, write a few words about how you feel.
Once you’ve completed this, go to the bottom of the page and write what the exact opposite of the situaion. Give this part some thought and then write down how it would feel to be experiencing this positive, opposite place. Think about this place for a few minutes. Imagine yourself in this place. How does it feel? How do you feel?  What thoughts come to mind?
There are of course, a host of steps to get you from your current situation to a better place. One way is to look at the page and fill in the space in between with small steps between the negative and the positive. We will be doing something similar to this at our workshop, exploring all of these steps in between.

Try the exercise with a few different situations and see what results.

The dream board process is energizing. It remains a popular tool on the path to having the life you desire.  Below is a sample dream, or vision board.

Robert Davidson created his after a baseball injury forced him to have shoulder surgery.  It’s a great example of one of the techniques he’s using to get back onto the pitcher’s mound.

Click on the picture, and link to one of my posts on the process.  It’s a perfect place to start and create your own.

Here is a great exercise in creating that’s easy to do.  It’s simple and it’s powerful.

As you wake up in the morning, before you get out of bed, pause.  Stay in bed, close your eyes and stay silent.  Focus your mind on how you would like the day to play out.  What would make this day ideal?  Think in specifics.

Do you have a meeting scheduled at work?  Then, imagine yourself there in that meeting.  At its most ideal, how does the room look? Who is there?  What expressions do people have on their faces?  How is the temperature in the room?  How do people respond to you?  What do you feel like in the meeting if it goes in the best possible way?

The keys here are details.  The more details you imagine, the more real this projection becomes.  And once you have the details down, then get in touch with the feeling.  How does it feel if things go as you imagine and you’ve accomplished what you desire?  If you have an ideal meeting, or an ideal day, how would that feel inside?  What would your energy be like?  How will you interact with others?  Think of all of these things in the morning as if they’ve already happened.

I used a meeting as an example. But, use this technique for whatever you have planned or desire for the day ahead.  Lay in bed, thinking, envisioning the day in detail.  Then get up and go about your normal routine, letting yourself slip back to the morning’s vision at anytime throughout the day.

Try this a few days in a row and notice where your day matches with your morning vision.  You may find that the more you do it, the easier it becomes.  This is an exercise to make part of your day everyday.  Enjoy and have fun with it.

Ever need an emotional lift?  Something to raise your vibrational energy?

The solution can be as easy as a pair of walking shoes.  How about a brisk walk around the block, or a quick trip to the gym?

I found myself today feeling out of touch, edgy even.  My solution:  Before heading home, I made a stop at the gym, got on the elliptical trainer, and within twenty minutes, I could physically feel my spirits lifting and the stress drifting away.  By the time I was finished with my workout, I was relaxed and feeling at a noticeably higher vibrational level.

You do not need to go to the gym to get this feeling.  Just add some physical activity next time you feel low.

How do you feel when you’re waiting for something to happen?  What it is something specific that you ache for?  That new car?  The love of a lifetime?  Graduation?  A promotion?  You name it, and I bet there is some period of waiting involved.  The way most of us experience time, of course, a wait is expected.  We can focus on the wait, feed ourself messages about “it’s coming”, or “it won’t happen right away”.  Of course that just prolongs the wait doesn’t it?

If I tell myself I am going to betting something I desire, then aren’t I really saying it is coming but it isn’t here.  What if instead, I let myself feel the experience of exactly where I am at and know that it is of course part of the journey.  But, a part just as deserving of cherish as the goal itself.  And, to make it even better, what if I let myself into the place and actions of what life is like with the goal achieved?  It will happen faster.

What do you think?  What are you thinking right now about what you desire?  Write those feelings down.  Embrace them whatever they are.  Follow them where they may lead.  For, they are part of your wonderful journey.
